Una narración emocionante y sorprendente que describe el ambiente de los españoles en el París de los alegres veinte y a continuación el contraste del ambiente bélico del Magreb, la guerra desde dentro, y es también una crítica feroz a los militares y los políticos, que en Madrid o Melilla toman decisiones egoístas, cobardes o simplemente equivocadas.
